Good evening folks, hoping all is well with you .

Thanks again for your interest in this Heritage site.
Cleanup remains underway about half way through, There has been one delicate matter requiring gardeners hands, the iron fence of which has been buried amongst the weeds needs gentle persuasion, hoping there will be volunteers for this.

I plan to finish cleanup this fall ,and possibly mark the graveyards borders.
During the fall and winter there will require much research and with the hope of a meeting on the horizon .
Steve Cameron from Green valley remains interested in having a meeting within a couple of months . He as well as his wife Joannehas done extensive research on this site , I'm looking forward as there will be much to learn form this heritage site.
There is a facebook address on this site, I encourage you to take a look ,and are welcome to provide and share information about the graveyard.

Thanks for your interest , Please take the time to pass this around to interested peoples.

Name: Joan Chadbourn

E-mail: joanchadbourn @ cox.net

surnames: Maxville Protestant Cemetery

Date: 11/12/13

query: Hello

I grew up in Maxville ON and would like to know when the Maxville Protestant cemetery was started?? Are there pages I can buy from you about the people who are buried there??

I am researching my 4 grandparents- Blaney and Smyth from N. Ireland and Macdonald and Benton from Scotland. They all came to ON  1820- 1844 and lived in Prescott county and Russell county. All of them moved to or near Maxville in the early 1900s. I am interested in Neil Macdonald who is buried in Cornwall. How would I find out where??

All the best, Joan,

the McIntyre query

Hello!

I am trying to make sense of some genealogical information that was given to my parents back when I was born in the 1950s.

Right now I am working on the information for my G/G/GF James McIntyre and his wife Margery McDonald McIntyre.  The information that I have says that Margery ( or Marjorie?) died in 1849 and was buried in "Maxville, Stormont, Ontario."

The only cemetery that I have found information for online does not go back that far.  Can you direct me to any older information about burials in that location?

Any hints will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

The McDougall Query
Name: Gordon MacDougall

surnames: McDougall family of Finch, Ontario

Date: Jan. 2. 1855 - Dec. 30 1960

query: My gggrandfather and gggrandmother came to Finch in the mid-1850's with multiple family members. Can you recommend any of your publications which might help me to fill in the blanks. My understanding is that some of them brought the ability to distill whisky with them! My grandfather was Hector Donald MacDougall who came to B.C. in the very early 1900's as my father was born in what is now Southern Alberta in 1906. They were on their way to Hedley to work in the gold mine there. The old timers above came from the Isle of Mull and were named Allan and Flora (Paterson). The Paterson name shows up a couple of times with some of my gguncles as a second given name.
Thanks for any assistance you might be able to give me, Gordon Wallace MacDougall,
